Artist's Statement
I am originally from Central Illinois. In 1961, I traveled to the deserts of the Southwest and the state of California for the first time where I was fascinated by the animal life and the colors and textures of the High Desert. I moved to Southern California in 1970 and have lived there ever since. My fascination with the beauty of the deserts and coastline and the diverse cultures of California have provided my artistic inspiration for many years.
The capture of movement in still images continues to be one of my main objectives in photography.
My photographic goal is to reveal the fractal geometry inherent in nature. I prefer to show the viewer the world not as the camera sees it, but as the human eye sees it.
